The second of our 2017 Rising Stars, Prescott High School senior Logan Carmick, nominates one of his two choices for Distinguished Educator – HomeBound Instructor Shawna Hodovance.

Logan Carmick‘s future plans include attending NAU, Prescott Valley to study nursing.

Hello Shawna, I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for me these past three years of high school. I could not have accomplished it without you. You have been there for me at my highs and lows and provided support and guidance. You have helped me achieve my goals in History and English.  Your advice and help in February, so I could play varsity baseball this year was amazing.

Through all that I have been through, you have still managed to meet me around my crazy schedule, and kept me on track for graduation. Thank you for pushing me when I did not want to do anything but lay there feeling sorry for myself. You showed me that I needed to dig deep to get things accomplished, especially the correct way. You have pushed me in my studies to make me more prepared for college courses and the real world.

I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for me. Thank you so very much, Shawna.

Distinguished Educator, HomeBound Instructor

It has been a pleasure to work with Logan over the last three years. He is a funny, thoughtful, young man that continues to impress me with his ability to persevere through challenges and setbacks with optimism. His work ethic, personality, and natural ability to get along with others will serve him well in his chosen career path of nursing.
