how we give

Our Programs
Funds donated to the PUSD Education Foundation make their way into classrooms through grants the foundation awards either directly to the district or to individual teachers as well as through innovative programs that are meant to enhance the quality of learning and better prepare the students for the future.

TEACHER GRANTS

The PUSD Education Foundation’s grant-making program is available to PUSD staff and teachers only. The funds are made possible through private donations from corporations, foundations, and individuals. These teaching innovation grants are designed to support K-12 teachers and schools in their efforts to develop, improve, or expand innovative instructional programs in a variety of disciplines. THE TEACHERS' CLOSET

The Teacher’s Closet is a program of the PUSD Education Foundation supporting district staff by providing free supplies for their classrooms. According to a recent survey released by the National Center for Education Statistics, Arizona ranks sixth in the country for the most personal money spent by teachers, with an average of $655 spent annually on classroom supplies. The Teacher’s Closet has a twofold mission: to give teachers the supplies they need in their classrooms without having to buy them themselves and to provide the supplies that children at risk need to be successful in the classroom.

TECHNOLOGY

The Foundation assists in the purchase of classroom computers and internet ‘hotspots’ for student use in distance learning.  As global demand for computer engineers, system administrators, technology coordinators, data scientists, and other STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics) professions continues to rise, the continued use of this technology will help prepare students for their future.

COLLEGE & CAREER PREPARATION

The PUSD Education Foundation is dedicated to helping PUSD prepare students for college and careers after graduation. At Prescott Mile High Middle School, students build a foundational knowledge regarding self-awareness, study skills, and potential career opportunities. At Prescott High School, through the Freshman Academy course, students build on that foundational structure to help define an edge for their future.  Click here to learn more.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The PUSD Education Foundation is committed to assisting learners at all levels of their education. With the help of our generous donors, our scholarship funds enable PHS students to launch their post-secondary college and career education journey. Scholarships are awarded to recognize student ambitions as well as to provide encouragement and incentive as students continue to work toward meeting their personal goals.
