how we give
Our Programs
School Enhancement Grants
The purpose of this PUSD Education Foundation School Enhancement Grant Program is to provide foundation funding for classroom and school enhancement projects that positively impact PUSD student learning and achievement. The program distributes $35,000 in available funding during the current fiscal year. The school’s administrative team is responsible for determining the specific project(s) and carrying out the implementation within the specified timeframe.

Teacher Recruitment and Retention
“PUSDEF plays a role in the recruitment and retention of teachers by providing supplemental financial support, resources, and professional development opportunities that enhance the working environment and job satisfaction of educators. This commitment ensures that Prescott Unified School District attracts and retains talented educators who are dedicated to fostering student success and building a strong educational community”.

THE TEACHERS' CLOSET
The Teacher’s Supply Closet is a program of the PUSD Education Foundation supporting district staff by providing free supplies for their classrooms. According to a recent survey released by the National Center for Education Statistics, Arizona ranks sixth in the country for the most personal money spent by teachers, with an average of $655 spent annually on classroom supplies. The Teacher’s Closet has a twofold mission: to give teachers the supplies they need in their classrooms without having to buy them themselves and to provide the supplies that children at risk need to be successful in the classroom.

Rising Stars
The Rising Stars program celebrates eight graduating seniors from Prescott High School who demonstrate exceptional character, determination, and a dedication to both personal growth and community betterment. Each selected student then expresses their gratitude to an educator who has profoundly influenced their academic and personal journey during the inspiring Rising Stars Awards Banquet.

TECHNOLOGY
The Foundation assists in the purchase of classroom computers and internet ‘hotspots’ for student use in distance learning. As global demand for computer engineers, system administrators, technology coordinators, data scientists, and other STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics) professions continues to rise, the continued use of this technology will help prepare students for their future.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The PUSD Education Foundation is committed to assisting learners at all levels of their education. With the help of our generous donors, our scholarship funds enable PHS students to launch their post-secondary college and career education journey. Scholarships are awarded to recognize student ambitions as well as to provide encouragement and incentive as students continue to work toward meeting their personal goals.
